the best bit

"Cooking on one ring has forced me to think creatively and find ways to cook multiple dishes in one pan, reducing the need for multiple pots."

Three ideas for taking action in your own kitchen, inspired by the conversation.

🍅 Explore alternative sources: Make it a habit using a local independent shop once a week, or seek out small producers in your area that sell directly at markets or from their website. It's the most impactful way you can support local farmers, enjoy high-quality produce, and contribute to a more sustainable and ethical food system.

🍅 Try pumpkin (or squash) in your sauces: Instead of using flour as a thickening agent, try using pumpkin to add flavour, depth and texture to your sauces. This simple swap adds goodness to your dishes and add a unique twist to your cooking.

🍅 Experiment with oil confit: Start confiting ingredients like garlic, herbs, tomatoes or peppers in olive oil. This technique bigs up the flavours, offers a pop of 'instant veg' to whatever you're cooking and preserves your ingredients for later use.
