The diet wars are raging

The diet wars are raging

...and totally missing the point

Maybe you have noticed this too: wherever we look, the diet wars are raging on.

In the press, on social media, in nutritionist forums, some food guru will say 'THIS is the best way to eat' for health, for condition x, for the planet, for this and that.

And everyone else will pile in, either shouting 'yes, it is' or 'no, it isn't'.

No wonder we feel overwhelmed by so many opinions, choices and red flags.

Yet hardly anyone points to the obvious: If you cooked it, it's healthy (yes, there is data on this, e.g. herehere and here).

.

Are you ready to reclaim your authority over your own nourishment?

.

Step one: Get cooking!

It’s well documented that the best 'diet' is one of real food, cooked by a human - whatever your eating preferences.

.

Step two: Stop counting calories!

Your body is more complicated than you can ever measure with an oversimplified and desperately outdated concept.

Step three: Notice!

Zoom in on how food and eating works for your body to make your own informed decisions.

How does a certain meal or food make you feel?

How do you feel eating while sitting down, or while rushing down the street? (I totally used to do that...) Do you feel better or worse, energised or tired, light or bloated or, focussed or foggy, calm or harassed?

As one enlightened nutritionist said: After eating you should simply feel no longer hungry. Everything else is a side effect.

.

It's up to you to decide: How do you want to feel?
